Scott Barber, Chief Executive Officer
Welcome to the Decatur county general Hospitals (DCGH) web site. My name is Scott Barber and I am the Hospital Administrator of DCGH. I was born here in this hospital some 45 years ago and basically grew up in or around this facility. I started working here as an EMT in 1992 and became a paramedic in 1993. I left DCGH in 1997 to work at JMCGH-ER and started a career as a flight paramedic with Air Evac Lifeteam (AEL) in 1998. I spent the next 15 years with AEL flying and managing flight programs for the AEL organization. During this time I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management and Eventually an MBA. In 2013 I was afforded an opportunity to become a hospital administrator in my home town of Parsons Tennessee and remain here at present. My goal here at DCGH is to create an environment and culture of providers that care for our community. With the current state of healthcare reimbursement, we must also stay focused on being fiscally sound while providing services for our patients. I promise this community that we will always be transparent about how this organization functions, as well as, entertain new ideas to serve you. It is an honor for me to serve our community in this capacity and look forward to the challenges ahead.
